    To apply for a tuckshop stall in an existing school. Existing schools will put up notices at the school gate or nearby Community Clubs whey they need stallholders.     Applications to new schools are usually open in August, while applications to existing schools are open only when there are available vacancies.

  3. What is the main criteria for the selection of a tuckshop stallholder?

    The main criterion for the selection of stallholder is the suitability to run and manage the stalls. Applicants are expected to:

    • Provide good service and quality food at reasonable prices;
    • Observe a high standard of personal and food hygiene;
    • Have catering experience.

    The average number of applicants received by a new school is about 300-700 for the 8 stalls available. Thus, the competition is very keen.

    Monthly rental for a tuckshop stall ranges from $5 to $15 depending on the school population.

  8. When will the applicants be informed of the outcome of their application?

    For applicants to new schools, the relevant schools will inform individual applicants including those who are unsuccessful. Results are usually announced in the November / December period.

    Applicants to existing schools should liaise with the relevant school.

  9. Can applicants submit more than one (1) application within the calendar year?

    Subsequent applications for tuckshop stalls in new schools will be considered void if earlier applications are still under consideration.

    This is not applicable for applicants applying to existing schools.

    Applicants to new schools can indicate their choice on the application form. Existing schools will specify the type of stall vacancies they have available.

    The Tuckshop Selection Committee approves the appointment of stallholders to new schools and decides on the selection of stallholders to existing schools.

    Applications for a tuckshop stall at ITE / Polytechnics should be made to these institutions directly.

  14. Is the Tuckshop Agreement a permanent one?

    The tuckshop agreement is valid for 1 year or 2 years. The agreement may be renewed subject to the decision of the Tuckshop Committee.
