Visit by Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Finance, to Jakarta, Indonesia, 5 December 2006

1 Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Finance, will be visiting Jakarta, Indonesia on 5 December 2006.

2 Mr Shanmugaratnam will meet Indonesian Minister of National Education Prof Dr Bambang Sudibyo. He will also meet with Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr Boediono and Minister of Finance Dr Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

3 In his capacity as the President of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Council, Mr Shanmugaratnam will also visit the SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Centre.

4 Mr Shanmugaratnam will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education on this trip.
