The inaugural International Conference on Teaching and Learning with Technology (iCTLT) was held from 5 – 6 August 2008
at the Suntec Singapore. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the conference was officiated by Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence. The opening address shared Singapore’s experience in using ICT to transform and enrich the learning environment, the challenges faced and lessons gleaned from past experiences of Masterplans 1 and 2; and the strategies for the third ICT masterplan.

iCTLT 2008 concluded with an overwhelming number
of 1800 participants attending the conference, of which about 200 participants were from over 20 countries outside Singapore. This year’s conference attracted 110 paper presentations, about half of which are from countries such as Australia, China, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States. A total of 37 exhibitors and 30 poster presentations from schools and universities showcased how ICT used in the teaching and learning.
