Hong Kong Scholarships: Primary
Applications for the 2009 Hong Kong Scholarships are now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest.
The Hong Kong Primary Scholarships (Special/Merit Awards) is tenable for studies in selected Singapore primary schools from the level of entry up to Primary Six, leading to the award of the Primary School Leaving Examinations certificate. The Scholarship is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.
Students from Hong Kong who wish to enter Singapore schools between Primary 2 and Primary 5 under the Hong Kong Scholarships are welcome to apply for the Primary School Special/Merit Awards. Students who perform well in the selection for the Scholarships will be given the Primary School Merit Award, while those who performed exceptionally well will be given the Primary School Special Award.
Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the awards:
- Hong Kong Permanent Residents
- For Primary 2 Awards: Primary 1 or 2 students between 7+ to 9+ years old at the time of admission into Primary 2 level in Singapore schools the following year
- For Primary 3 Awards: Primary 2 or 3 students between 8+ to 10+ years old at the time of admission into Primary 3 level in Singapore schools the following year
- For Primary 4 Awards: Primary 3 or 4 students between 9+ to 11+ years old at the time of admission into Primary 4 level in Singapore schools the following year
- For Primary 5 Awards: Primary 4 or 5 students between 10+ to 12+ years old at the time of admission into Primary 5 level in Singapore schools the following year
- Good academic track record

Candidates short-listed for the selection test/interview will be notified a week before the selection test/interview dates. We regret that only short-listed candidates will be notified.
The selection test and English Language Oral Assessment for the awards will be held in Singapore. Candidates will not be reimbursed for travelling or other expenses incurred in connection with the selection test or assessment.

Terms and Conditions
- Allowance of S$1,000 (Primary School Merit Award) / S$2,000 (Primary School Special Award) per annum
- Waiver of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)
- One-month English Language Immersion Course
- There is no bond attached to the scholarship
