Phases of the Direct School Admission Exercise for JC1 and Equivalent level

25 Jun to 24 Jul 2012 Offer Stage

JCs/Institutions may shortlist and make Confirmed Offers to selected students.

25 to 27 Jul 2012 Acceptance Stage

A student may accept only one of his Confirmed Offers by submitting his acceptance form to the JC/Institution. He is guaranteed a place in the JC/Institution if he accepts the offer during this stage and meets the eligibility criteria for JC admission.

30 Jul to 1 Aug 2012 Cooling-Off Stage (30 Jul to 1 Aug 2012)

Students may cancel their Phase 1 acceptances during this stage, if they wish to accept a Phase 2 offer.

Offer Stage (30 Jul to 14 Aug 2012)

JCs/Institutions may shortlist and make Confirmed Offers to selected students.

17 to 23 Aug 2012 Acceptance Stage

A student may accept only one of his Confirmed Offers by submitting his acceptance form to the JC/Institution. He is guaranteed a place in the JC/Institution if he accepts the offer during this stage and meets the eligibility criteria for JC admission

Note: A student who accepts a JC/Institution offer cannot concurrently accept an offer from a polytechnic via the Direct Polytechnic Admission (DPA) Exercise. A student who is found to have accepted more than one Confirmed Offers (JC/Institution and/or polytechnic) will be disqualified from DSA-JC and DPA Exercises.

(Phase 1 & 2: Withdrawal)

Withdrawal from the Exercise

Students who wish to participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE) must submit withdrawals from 2012 DSA-JC Exercise by 5 Oct 2012, 5.00pm.

Students admitted to a JC/Institution through DSA-JC are not allowed to participate in the annual Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE).

Students who have been successfully allocated to a school via DSA-JC Exercise are not allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the GCE ‘O’ Level examination results as they are expected to honour their commitments to their posted DSA-JC schools.

Note: The following 8 Institutions have opted to participate only in Phase 1 of the DSA-JC Exercise:

  • Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)
  • Hwa Chong Institution
  • National Junior College
  • Raffles Institution
  • School of the Arts,Singapore
  • St. Joseph’s Institution
  • Temasek Junior College
  • Victoria Junior College
